Careers at Cathedral Chapel School

The Cathedral Chapel School FAMILY is looking for our next outstanding science teacher for the 2024-25 school year. With a long tradition of academic excellence, we are a smaller school, and serve our community with one teacher per grade level. Our elementary grades are self-contained, and our middle school is departmentalized. Our science teacher will serve as the seventh-grade homeroom teacher and will benefit from a newly-refurbished science lab while instructing all students in grades six, seven and eight. Remaining course load will depend on our applicant’s gifts – either teaching a foreign language (Spanish preferred), or technology to all students.

NEW PARENT INFORMATION

Welcome new parents to the Cathedral Chapel School Community! We know that school is coming up pretty soon — we’ll have contact information for Room Parents shortly so that you can reach out and connect, but in the meantime, below we have some Frequently Asked Questions for you!

How do I get a uniform for my child?

You’re in luck! Michaels School Uniforms helps take care of all of our school uniform needs, and they have set a day to be at the school with inventory for purchase.

Please join us on Saturday, July 13th from 11:00am – 1:00pm to purchase everything your little one might need for the upcoming school year!
UniformSale Download the flyer here.

We also invite you to join us for our Annual Used Uniform Sale at the same time being held in the CCS auditorium. We have some wonderful parent volunteers who are happy to answer any uniform-related questions you may have, and help you purchase gently used school uniforms (at an extremely steep discount!).

How do I get enrolled in EDC (Extended Day Care)?

The Extended Day Care Program includes organized, age-appropriate, socially, developmentally, and emotionally beneficial activities for the students. Opportunities for homework/quiet time, snacks, conversation with peers, indoor/outdoor games, and arts & crafts are provided in the curriculum. Although EDC is not a tutorial program, supervisors maintain an environment conducive for the students to complete homework and classroom projects.

An enrollment form for the year is typically sent out during the first week of school. Once you have enrolled you will be all set to use EDC as often as needed.

For more information, and to register your child visit https://forms.gle/VNeYqivB7WsKAZkp9

What am I allowed to pack for lunch?

Is there a list of foods that are not allowed? Can I pack a peanut butter & jelly? Are nuts allowed? Can I pack popcorn?

There is no list of banned foods from CCS. In 2022, teachers requested that children not be sent to school with energy drinks packed, and parents have honored that request since — but it is not officially banned.

ANY CHILDREN WITH ALLERGIES should report them to the front office. If your child needs an Epi-Pen or anything allergy-specific, please ensure the office has that information on file. Similarly, if your child has an allergy and cannot eat certain things, please communicate that to your room parent so that any birthday or class celebrations do not endanger your child.

I have a TK/Kindergartener — when is their orientation?

Congratulations! Welcome to CCS! Your little one will be in wonderful hands with Ms. Cendejas and Ms. Perez.

You and your child are invited to join us at CCS for a classroom orientation on Friday, August 9, 2024 from 11:00am – 12:30pm.

You will have the opportunity to purchase the required sleep mat while at the orientation — they are $30, and exact cash or check is appreciated.
